Today’s Fresh Start Charter School, (transitional kindergarten, and K-8) is a “school of choice” now accepting applications for K-8 th grades for all sites. TFSCS was founded in 2003 by Drs. Jeanette and Clark Parker, who are committed educators of our inner city youth for 49 years. Dr. Jeanette and Dr. Clark work together as a team, Dr. Clark is the Construction Manager at the new $19 million Inglewood site. Dr. Jeanette manages the day to day school operations of the five sites with a wonderful Administrative staff, Teachers, Clerical, Maintenance, Supplemental Staff, Consultants, etc. TFSCS schools are located on five sites with a security guard at each site to ensure your child’s safety.

TFSCS is high tech with state of the art technology. Second through eighth grades have their own personal laptop and must be responsible in the use thereof. TFSCS has smartboards, tablets, kindles too.What is TFSCS’ mission? Starting at kindergarten, each child is taught their only option is to go to college. Each child kindergarten through eighth grades (K-8) will be individually educated to their highest level of academic achievement, as well as socially and emotionally. The TFSCS program is rigorous. We teach reading comprehension, math, critical thinking and success for life. Adhering to a strict, rigorous academic culture, students are taught self discipline, intrinsic self worth, personal responsibility and how to get along with others and resolving conflict with words and communication. Parents are expected to cooperate with TFSCS through the TFSCS Friends and Family. That old saying is really true, “It takes a village to raise a child.” We simply cannot do it alone. We all work together as a team toward our common mission with the same goal: that each of our children is successful in this complex society. TFCS has small class sizes, small group instruction, individualized instruction, tutoring after-school, Saturday enrichment and an After School program (as space available). Students have breakfast, lunch, snacks and supper.

Teachers are groomed into the TFSCS system of education. They are trained into the TFSCS system of education protocols. TFSCS has a five year collaboration with UC San Diego to train and qualify our teachers in subject classes which are customized to the needs of our TFSCS student and parent clientele. Parent involvement is required and critical to your child’s success. Students are encouraged to develop their gifts and talents in preparation of their life long learning experiences and a successful adult life with intrinsic self-worth. We teach and grow “scholars.” Today’s Fresh Start has high API Test Scores of 836 and 840, higher than the State of California API scores. TFSCS is Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
